The Roman Emperors knew it and they knew it had a brillinat diversive effect on the public. Give the people "bread and spectacle" and keep their minds busy with nonsense. This way the crowds will not understand how bad things really are and will not seek to scrutinize the way we rule either. One has to wonder about the human nature and its evolution curve, which would make one think that two thousand years of the same old trick should slowly wear-off. And yet, contemporary Greece, still manages to impress us with its persistance to defy any rules of logic, any sense of progress and its resistance to embrace change. Or maybe not? Could it be that the modern Rulers of this country perceive themselves as Roman Emperors, while the general public perceives them as pupets? Can it be that the resistance to change is only resting with the politicians, while the public is ready to move on and turn this country's page? Stay tuned for more...
