Athens burning all weekend long. Riots everywhere, mostly by rebels without a cause. When destroying has become the only pressure outlet in a Democracy, then this Democracy is in default. At the same time, the weekend had a pressed political agenda, which was not very conducive to the resolving of any single matter on the list. Meeting with Turkey's Prime Minister in Athens, Riots over Romanos, an imprisoned youngster who is now causing waves of protests in the public opinion with regard to whether he should be allowed to attend classes at University, though convicted for Bank theft and terrorist actions, and the Riots over the 6th Anniversary of the death of Alexis Grigoropoulos, another youngster who has been idolized in this faulty Democracy and who fell victim to Police violence, back in his days. Lastly, the ongoing debate and the approval of the 2015 Fiscal Budget. Too much too handle even for a functioning Democracy I would say. The flip side of the coin to this open political discussion needs to highlight, however, that Romanos is a convicted criminal, Alexis Grigoropoulos -though not convicted of any crime- was attacking the police force in Exarcheia with Molotov bombs and the rest is just politics. Great hypnosis of a formerly great nation. God help us...
