The House of Un-commons aka the Greek Parliament

The days in Parliament are very hectic. In a sudden announcement of the Goverment today the date for the premature election of the new President of the Republic has been set to take place next week. At the same time no candidates for the post have been nominated, as yet. On the other hand, the Greek Rescue plan has been extended by the Troica for two more months. Someone is clearly taking heavy political risks in this game, yet many are likely to loose. No matter what direction this situation may take the nation's stability is at great stake. Will the Coallition Government succeed in electing the new president in Parliament, which requires a vote of 3/5 (i.e. 180) of MPs? Will it not be able to do so in the next 2 rounds and secure the Vote of trust then Parliamentary elections are likely to take place as early as February 2015. The opposition party of SYRIZA is likely to win these, unless PM Samaras will manage to capitalize on Greece's exit from the Rescue Plan and any future funding needs/dependence from the Troica and promote himself as the savior of the Country, hoping to be re-elected. Should he fail to achieve that, then SYRIZA will throw the country into a new spiral of political uncertaintly and chaos. Yet, the people are surprisingly ready even for this radical change though most already know that what will come is worse than what is...this is clearly a sign of political burnout if you ask me...
