This is the title of a very inspiring article recently published and summarises the views of the former General Secretary of Public Revenue, when it comes to assess the overall function of the Greek Public Sector. In his closing statement he poses three vital recommendations to all citizens, which I find worth sharing with you. His first recommendation is to "fight" even when you believe that everyone else is to blame for the mess of the Greek Public Sector today - whether our politicians, the international kleptocracy, the immigrants, the Zionists, the Germans or whoever else - because if you believe that, then you should also believe that they are not going to change anything about it, as the "status quo" seems to serve their needs best. So, you have to believe in something that is worth fighting for yourself, small or big and engage in its pursuit. His second recommendation is "resist" and to not seek your own temporary personal benefit. Besides, this is what society is all about. The trust in the people around you and the quest of the greater good as opposed to your inferior personal benefit. Assess the solutions proposed to you not on the basis of whether they solve your personal situation but the one of your unborn offsprings. This is the only way that will render solutions solid. The third recommendation is to "demand" if you care enough to fight, if you can withstand temporary profit, then you will also be able to demand. Demand respect, demand functional Public Services and a clear path forward. Do not stand behind the lies of the past, the concealment of problems and ineffective reforms, which are made for the sake of reforms and not for the sake of substantial improvement. Now I am sure everyone else in Europe will wonder why I find this article inspiring, as in most of these countries I am only stating the obvious...
