I who am dead a thousand years

In a renewed state of mind, essentially more resigned to the fact that this world is divided by design into "Masters and Servants" I am still having major difficulties to digest the fact that my existence is on the Servant side by some sort of default setting. And that default setting are essentially my geographical coordinates. I always considered myself to be a so called Alpha-male, as my surrounding reality allowed for such perception. Educated, sophisticated, emotionally intelligent, travelled and quite modern in style and ideas from a "street-view" perspective, therefore I find it the more challenging to be part of a nation that has settled for mediocracy in every respect from a "helicopter" perspective.
On the other hand, I am quite familiar with the concept of the Rise and Fall of nations and States throughout mankind's history, and I sense that whether actively or passively I am part of the cast in the thriller of my country's decline. It is without any doubt a historical moment, this moment of Fall, and despite the views of many that history teaches us lessons for the future, I conclude that these lessons do require an attentive audience, if they are to fulfil their educational scope. And here is where I believe that our collective deafness has kicked-in, hence enabling the inevitable to take place once more and to permit our perishing. Obviously, the chronicle leading to today's events has been written in the course of the last 30 years of political history of the country. What still remains though as a bitter taste to most, is the fact that like with every movie plot that foresees the fall of a nation, somewhere in-between there is usually a patriotic figure who has provided his heroic resistance until the moment of the inevitable. What a shame that this country's plot has eliminated this character and has substituted it with the characters or serial traitors, thus depriving the rest of us of the comfort of having provided serious resistance to the forces of evil. In this sense, not only are we going down, but we do so without having secured a credible story for the future generations. And from a moral standpoint this is worse than the decline in itself. Because, this leaves no ashes behind and no Phoenix to rise. This leaves eternal darkness behind, like a blindspot in humankind's existence that has been erased to make room for anyone who is capable of claiming that space. And we do know that we are not the most capable ones to run ethnical propaganda campaigns. Instead, we allow a miniature figure holding the office of Prime Minister to push us deeper into eradication and we even tolerate his image and his many shortfalls, who render his profile totally incapable for the office he holds in many of the serious countries on this planet. Instead, we find it humorous that he is ridiculing this country with his every public appearance in international fora and his poor performance who render him the "clown" in every constellation of politicians where he participates. His non-existent English language knowledge, which shames every primary school kid who outdoes him, and with his blinded arrogance that renders him the victim of his peers. And while we do set up quality control systems in almost every other aspect of public life, whether food, health or what have you, there is no such quality standard for our political personnel. And why that is? Because we live in democracies under disguise. And because our political system is the one of corruption and paranoia. How else would you explain this puppet's actions, who then has the audacity to appear in the media as the saviour of this country. A man who has established his political career on serial lies, and on continuous rebounces in his political agenda. A man who does exactly what is asked of him in exchange for his power retention without the slightest sign of dignity. Of the kind that hard working people in the country show when they accept his scruples overtaxation, and his public spending for himself and his peers like there is no tomorrow. When his cabinet takes private jets to fly around the globe without any political agenda, or even if they do it with an agenda it is usually a wrong and outdated one. For trips to Colombia, or Cuba to express their condolences to representatives of regimes that appear extraterrestrial in today's global politics, or even occasionally with weekend trips to London just to visit the Casino. Mafia style government if you ask me.
The latest stand in a series of political mismanagement is the upgrading of our F-16 fleet to level AESA, essentially equipping our outdated fleet with a radar system that will allow the reconnaissance of Turkish F-35 fighter jets at a distance of 40 Km, while the latter will have the ability to identify a Greek F-16 from a distance of 250 Km and fire an air-to-air missile from a distance of 100 Km. The price for this nonsense? A mere 2,4 billion EUR, which this country does not have. According to our MoD the cost was set at 1,2 billion EUR. And if it wasn't for Trump himself who revealed the actual cost, this nation was lied to again and again. This country is being treated by the US like a fine Night Club by the Aegean Sea-side, that has to pay protection fees to the US. Given the fact that the relations between Turkey and the US have reached an all-time low, one would think that this is the opportunity for Greece to re-appear on the geopolitical map of the area. And while one would think that the US would be in search for a reliable partner in the region (with the US Military Base kicked-out of Incirlik), it does seem that business takes priority over politics. With the US and Turkey being hostile to each other these days, it is odd that Turkey is still getting its 100 F-35 next year, which offer absolute dominance over the Aegean. And while Greece is playing "all-in" the US refuses to sell even one F-35 to Greece but instead pushes for the upgrade of F-16. Smart if you will, as this essentially renders Greece the captive of the US for its defensive capability, which is totally aligned to the US dogma of creating the infamous zones of influence as part of its standard conduct of foreign policy. If that is not a nightmare, then I really do not know what is. And if that is not stripping this country's resources by design then call me conspirator. Maybe I shouldn't be nagging. Maybe I should just accept the fact that by paying 2,4 billion EUR to the US for the upgrade of 123 F-16 we just provide 123 fine Greek fighter jet pilots with the required seconds to press the eject button to save their lives, as it would be almost absurd to expect them to provide real resistance on the air when facing an invisible enemy. And since I am doomed to perish as a nation, please make sure you get an autograph before that happens.
